Story
I've had enough of hearing the word cancer! The pain and suffering it causes not only to the individual diagnosed but the devastation it creates in families.
In 2019 I created a JustGiving page for CancerResearch following a diagnosis for my grandad, I set a target to raise £200 and thanks to everyones generosity managed to raise a total of £700!
Unfortunately my Grandad lost his battle in 2022, i had planned on creating a page earlier this year to once again raise money for cancer research/to mark his 1 year anniversary - this year i have lost someone else to this dreadful disease which has given me a kick up my arse to get fundraising again!
For people who know me..........you'll know my fitness level is errrr not the best! Running is definitely not something i enjoy so for me these are challenges! In 2019 i set myself 4 tasks which i am looking to repeat again this year.
I will be climbing Snowdown again, hoping for above freezing conditions this time and maybe even some form of view, fingers crossed! I have signed up to the mud run again in June along with my mum and auntie. Towards the end of the year I will be taking part in the Shine Walk, this is one i actually did alongside my grandad back in 2019 so is definitely one i would like to repeat this year with family members :) The 4th i did in 2019 was a colour run, i haven't signed up to one as yet as the one i did take part in clashes with another event in my diary so i'm currently on the look out for a 4th challenge! It could be a colour run or maybe a whole new challenge, i'll keep this page updated when i find something.
The sad fact is that 1 in 2 of us will be affected by cancer (a terrifying statistic!) so the money you donate could end up helping yourself or a loved one........so go on, dig deep! let's try and help make a difference :)
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
