Sore Bum's for Sarcomas

Land's End to John O'Groats on a Tandem · 17 April 2025
This easter me and Archie will be taking on Lands' End to John o' Groats on our trusty tandem, Charles.
We will be cycling for 16 days and a total distance of around 1000 miles (!) We will be carrying all our own gubbins to camp and stay with some friends along the way. While we won't be on a beach drinking Aperol, but we are keen for the challenge of many hills and spending an extended period of time very much together.
We will be raising money for The Christie, where I had treatment for a rare bone cancer - Ewing Sarcoma. Sarcomas are a type of cancer that is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat.
It goes without saying that cancer treatment and recovery is incredibly difficult both physically and mentally, and life for individuals with cancer, and their friends, families and loved ones changes forever. The Christie not only saved my life, but I never dreaded going for treatment there - which I think says a lot about the incredible staff there.
I am three years cancer free now (!!) and being able to do this feels like a huge step in recovery. I wouldn't be here without the Christie - a hospital which is absolutely vital in providing high quality cancer care to over 60,000 patients a year, helping patients and their loved ones through a very difficult journey.
If you can spare any pennies or pounds, we would be very thankful and your donation will be going to a very special place!
