2025 London Marathon - running for Stickler Syndrome UK

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
After struggling his sight since he was born, in 2017 my baby brother Jacob woke up one morning blind in one eye. He had emergency surgery at our local hospital but unfortunately his sight did not return as it was. He was referred to Addenbrookes to come to the conclusion that he had Sticklers! Results showed he did, and just before & during Covid he had 7 operations! Overnight blindness, cateract surgery, the full works. He has been an absolute Warrior! Thankfully one op gave him a decent amount of sight in one eye and it has remained stable for 2 years, allowing him to complete his school work without assistance and enjoy playing sports! We’re extremely grateful for the research team & his amazing surgeon Mr Snead who performed what we feel like was definitely miracle surgery. With that in mind, my other little brother Sam & I would like to give something back to the Stickler charity. So we are starting with the London Marathon. Money raised to continue research especially, would be greatly appreciated. So if you could be so kind to sponsor us & help this very special charity raise much needed funds, would mean the world!
