Thursday 1st August is Cycle to Work Day, and we have a small team from Charles Brand undertaking the 100km commute to our Rosemount House HQ, in Belfast, from Coleraine.

The Team, including our Managing Director Niall McGill, Andy Bate our Sustainability Manager and Tony O'Neill from the Wellness Hub, will be cycling the 100km to raise money and awareness of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Niall recently launched our EPIC Sustainability Strategy (Environment, People, Integrity, Creativity) which encompasses our Charles Brand, FK Lowry and SMS Contracts operations, and leads our Engagement Group which focuses on maximising the collaboration between the business units towards corporate responsibility related projects and initiatives.

Right now, more than 3 million people are living with cancer in the UK. By 2030 this figure will rise to 4 million.

Macmillan strives to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, by providing physical, financial, and emotional support. Almost 98% of their work is funded by donations. They raise money to provide vital cancer services, research, and campaign to improve cancer care and support the cancer workforce. Unfortunately recently some if us have witnessed first hand the work that they do, which is really amazing.
