Story
The Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen breed used to suffer from a painful and blinding eye disease called Primary Open Angle Glaucoma. But thanks to research by the Canine Genetics Centre, in collaboration with veterinary ophthalmologists and the worldwide PBGV owning and breeding community, the causal mutation was identified and published in 2015.
And now breeders have a DNA test that they can use to make sure they don’t breed any more dogs affected with this horrible disease.
In recognition of the Canine Genetics Centre’s research, the Health & Rescue Foundation of the Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen Club of America has generously donated $10,000 to help support the Canine Genetics Centre.
And the Foundation has recently announced it will donate up to a further $10,000 as a matching grant - meaning they will donate $1 for every $1 donated to this grant, up to $10,000.
This is an extremely generous offer, and an exciting opportunity for donors to effectively double their donation to help support the Canine Genetics Centre.
Please use this dedicated fundraising campaign to help us track donations made via this grant.
Thank you very much in advance for your donation
