Story
I am taking part in the Redgate Sports Big Trek on the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th June. This will involve walking over 20 miles per day for 4 days. I want to achieve two things by taking part.
Firstly - to raise money for the great charity that is Redgate Sports. They are a Worcestershire based organisation that support children who need a bit more help. Many of the children they work with are in the care system or have a special educational need - many will have experienced trauma. Redgate Sports provide sporting opportunities in a supportive and safe environment and combine this with mentoring and well-being support.
Secondly - my father Huw Rees passed away of motor neurone disease (MND) (also known as Lou Gehrig's disease or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) in 2012 and since then I have wanted to raise funds for a MND related charity. A few family members have therefore agreed to match what I raise for Redgate Sports and donate it to the MND Association, which does amazing work for people who suffer with this disease and their families.
Please give generously and thank you for your support.
