Story
My first challenge was only to run 20 miles for Finnbar’s Force which I completed… this turned into then also running my first marathon which I also completed… tomorrow on my birthday I am going to attempt my first Ultra marathon. I will be taking part in Boghoppers Races’ Weavers Way 50km.
I am so grateful to everyone who has donated to Finnbar’s Force already. If you can share my page so that more people know about this amazing charity it will keep me running tomorrow. 🙌
UPDATE. I am going to continue my fundraising for Finnbar’s Force by running the first Norfolk Marathon. I can’t actually believe it myself but to have trained and completed the 20 miles, how I can I not go the extra 6.2 miles?! Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. I am not expecting anymore from you amazing people but if you can share my page I would be so grateful.
Wymondham Cecil Amey Opticians have chosen Finnbar’s Force as our charity for our Centenary Year. When I read about the charity I personally felt very moved and wanted to do something to help raise money for them. I have been running for just over 2 years. I started training for my first charity run which was the Hunny Bell run which was sponsored by Cecil Amey, that was 5 miles through the Stody Estate. I have since built up to half marathon distance but I never imagined trying anything further. 20 miles is going to be really difficult but running to raise money for this amazing charity and family will get me through on the day I know it.
Please read about this charity and help if you can. Every donation makes a difference. I will be running the Wymondham 20 miler on the 24th March a week after the Blickling Spring Half Marathon!
From the charity:
We are a small local charity In Memory of Finnbar Cork - 10th September 2010 - 5th August 2016.
Finnbar’s Force take every opportunity we can to provide the public with information about the symptoms of brain tumours and childhood cancer. We are committed to making every family feel that they are supported when and where they need to be - we have a small team of volunteers to support families emotionally and practically in their homes and at hospital.
By mid-2024 we aim to employ a specialist support worker who will lead the support team
