We support young people at risk of suicide to stay safe and find hope in times of need

Story

Cold Water Swimming has known physical & mental health benefits. We are a group of Sea Swimmer's based in Cemaes Bay at the most northerly point of Anglesey.

We decided to set ourselves a fun challenge of swimming from 42 different locations around Anglesey. Combining our passion with a charity cause where we could encourage people to come and join in or just come & socialise seemed like a great idea.

We feel really strongly about championing mental health issues & decided we wanted to do something for young people.

PAPYRUS is the national Charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide.

It felt like a perfect choice for us.

Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, every year over 1800 young people took their own lives. PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINE247.

Every £5 raised can contribute towards a life-saving contact to HOPELINE247. Your donations really are lifesaving, thank you.
