Story
After two herculean battles, on July 1st 2023 I lost my mum to Cancer.
She was much much more than the 'Jo' than many people knew. She was my best friend, my mentor, my council, a shoulder to cry on, a one woman fan club for my successes, an amazing Grandmother to my children, a mother for many, a comedian, a dancer, a doer who would help ANYONE who needed her support, a dreamer and the list goes on and on........
Rather than mourn her passing, I want to celebrate her amazing life by raising some money for one of the fantastic charities helping those who are blighted by this callous and heartless condition.
There are around 400,000 new cases of cancer every single year in the UK. Despite all of the medical advancements, the overall survival rate is still around 50%. (Cancer Research UK Statistics).
I am very lucky to have been awarded a London Marathon place by Macmillan Cancer Support. An organisation that helped my mum and our family.
I plan to complete numerous events and activities to help me hit my fundraising target. I would be eternally grateful if you could contribute any amount (large or small), to help fill the the pot!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!!
Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.
