Help Us Reach £4,000 for Catching Lives Winter Appeal
We’re reaching out to our wonderful community for our annual fundraiser supporting Catching Lives’ Winter Appeal. Over the years, together we’ve made a significant difference, raising tens of thousands of pounds for those in need. This year, we’re setting our sights on £4,000, and we believe that with your help, we can achieve it.
Standing Together as a Community
Our groups are more than just online spaces—they’re a reflection of the strong community spirit that defines Canterbury. As winter approaches, it’s more important than ever to come together and support those facing the harshest conditions.
Why Your Support Matters
With the rise in rough sleeping, the Canterbury Community Shelter is once again opening its doors, offering a safe haven for up to 15 people each night during the coldest months. A £10,000 grant from Canterbury City Council and last year’s generous donations have made this possible, but ongoing support is essential to keep these vital services running.
• Catching Lives aims to raise £50,000 to operate the Winter Shelter for three months and continue their Day Centre services throughout the winter and beyond.
• They collaborate with the Council, Porchlight, and other partners to help individuals transition from the shelter into stable housing.
How Your Donation Makes a Difference
Every contribution, no matter the size, has a real impact:
• £5 provides hot drinks at the Day Centre to warm those braving the cold.
• £8 supplies breakfast and lunch for a week to someone experiencing homelessness.
• £19 offers essential services for a day to a person in need.
• £47 hosts someone for a night at the Canterbury Community Shelter.
Your generosity could help save lives this winter.
