This year Cats Protection has seen a 30% increase in Cat Abandonment, our mission is to make ‘Life better for Cats’. We are asking for your support to enable to us to continue to help cats like Suze who was taken into our care at the North Wales Cat Centre after being abandoned.

Suze suddenly turned up at the North Wales Cate centre one day hiding amongst the bushes of the cattery between blocks of cat pens. We would see her peaking out when ever it was feeding time for the cats in care.

We placed a donated shelter amongst the bushes and shrubs for her to hide in and started to leave out food for her, close to her hiding place.

Very gradually she began to gain in confidence and once she built up trust with us, she came out of hiding. She was a very friendly girl who adored affection and getting lots of fusses. It was at this point we realised that she was heavily pregnant!

To prevent her giving birth amongst the bushes we held a cat pen free for her and gradually encouraged her to eat inside the cat pen.

Once we felt she was comfortable to be contained, we admitted her to our care. She rewarded us by giving birth to five kittens. Sadly one of the kittens was a still born but the remaining 4 kittens Stiletto, Loafer, Brogue and Slipper were healthy and thriving.

We ensured that her kittens were raised in a safe environment here at the centre. All of the kittens were socialised during their time in care based on the knowledge and skills of the staff and dedicated team of volunteers.

Your donations have a huge impact on our work and this is how they could be spent:

£2.00 – Could buy a soft fleece blanket for a cat in our care.

£5.00 – Could feed one cat in our care for 25 days.

£10.00 – This would cover the cost of both flea and worming treatments.

£20.00 – Could buy kitten milk for one orphan kitten until they are ready to be weaned onto cat food.

£50.00 – Would provide one cat with a full first exam, 1st vaccination and a flea and worm treatments.
