Give Chief a Second Chance: Help Us Provide the Care He Deserves

Meet Chief, a brave and affectionate young cat currently in the care of Cats Protection Devon.

Chief came to us under heartbreaking circumstances. He was brought into a local vet by his owners after suffering a severe leg injury. Unfortunately, like many pet owners in the UK, Chief’s family was unable to afford the costly veterinary treatment he so desperately needed. After much distress, they made the difficult decision to sign him over to us, knowing it was the only way he could receive the life-saving care he required.

As you can imagine, the surgery required to help Chief isn’t inexpensive. We’re now reaching out for support to cover the costs of his treatment.

Despite the challenges he’s faced, Chief is a true fighter. Even after losing a leg, he remains a loving and friendly cat who is adjusting wonderfully to life on three legs. Currently, he is on cage rest to heal, but soon, he will be ready to begin the next chapter of his life in a forever home.

The Cost of Care: A Growing Challenge

This winter, more cats than ever are being surrendered or abandoned, largely due to financial hardship faced by pet owners. With rising vet bills and the increasing cost of living, many families are being forced to make the heartbreaking decision to part with their beloved pets. At Cats Protection, we’re seeing a surge in calls for help as cats urgently need medical treatment, food, and shelter.

We need to raise at least £500 to cover Chief's medical expenses. If we are fortunate enough to exceed this amount, any extra donations will go towards the care of other cats who come into our Centre in need.

How You Can Help:

• £10 can provide a week’s worth of food for a cat in our

care.

• £30 can cover a health check and vaccinations.

• £50 can help fund surgeries like Chief’s amputation.

Your support can make a lasting impact, ensuring that no cat is left behind during this difficult winter. Together, we can make sure that every cat, including Chief, gets the care they deserve.
