Story
So when I said I would only ever run one marathon back in 2017 it turns out I lied.🤣London 2024 Cathy Hammond is in the starting lineup ❤️❤️
The adventure buddies are on this journey with me as my support network and fundraising squad, plus my amazing family and friendship circles. It really will be an adventure to remember for so many reasons.
Back in March this year our friend Liz became very ill very quickly. The cruel shit storm that picked up from that week onwards was unrelenting and unstoppable. Liz was strong, courageous and battled like a warrior, but the cancer was insurmountable. Liz was in Gloucester Royal for ten weeks and then transferred to Sue Ryder for her final six weeks.
Liz was an amazing fit strong woman that could take on a challenge and smash it, it’s still such a shock that my friend has been taken so early. 💔
Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives, whether it’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition – they’re there when it matters. Their doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.
Sue Ryder Hospice were amazing through Liz’s time there, the team offer more than a medical approach, the holistic approach from the whole team was incredible, nothing was to much trouble for Liz and her family. A foot massage, a nurse to sit and go through what’s happening, a doctor to explain the medical jargon.
Anyone of us may need these services, imagine it not being available to someone you love. So I ask you to dig deep, support this amazing charity that is reliant on donations.
