Story
This year I have taken up running and am participating in my second half marathon - The Royal Parks! I am raising money for Hospice Africa, a charity close to my heart, and would be incredibly grateful for any donations.
Hospice Africa was founded 30 years ago in Liverpool, UK and has since expanded its clinical and support operations globally. They have developed an affordable and culturally appropriate palliative care model which is being replicated by other organisations across Africa. Their vision is to provide palliative care for all those in need in Africa, as access to this care is a basic human right. However, without adequate funding, the future of Hospice Africa is uncertain.
The UK, Ireland, France, Australia and the USA are all vital sources of support for Hospice Africa's work, from teaching and training healthcare staff in palliative care ethos and practices (10,000 medical staff trained), to providing medical equipment, clinic services, rural home visits and children’s daycare service. They also manufacture affordable morphine which has been used to help HIV/AIDS and cancer patients over the past 30 years.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of Hospice Africa's incredible work - please join us in celebrating this milestone by donating as much or as little as you can!
