Story
Thanks for supporting my fundraising.
Cancer sucks. It's impacted my family way too much in the past, losing both my aunty Liz (the best aunty that ever was) and uncle David (the most intelligent, kind hearted man you could ever meet) to cancer in the most horrible way.
More recently, in September 2023, my husband, Chris, was been diagnosed with advanced oesophageal cancer. This has been a really difficult time for us. Chris, you know how strong he is, is still fighting and doing an amazing job. We've had great support from family and friends, which we are grateful for.
We've also had more support from Macmillan than we ever thought. They have literally been there for us every step of the way, contacting Chris directly before we even thought about getting in touch with them. They have been incredible. They think of everything. Their support line is manned by very caring and empathetic nurses.
If you're reading this, I hope you never need to use their service, but if you do, you will be in excellent hands. Fundraising to make sure that Macmillan can continue to give practical, emotional and financial support to everyone affected by cancer.
Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.
