Story

Worldwide, three people are diagnosed with encephalitis (brain inflammation) every minute. Caused by infection or autoimmune diseases, it can affect anyone. It is an acutely serious condition with high mortality rates, leaving many who do survive with an acquired brain injury - potentially affecting them physically and/or affecting their memory, thinking and personality for the rest of their lives.

Encephalitis International's mission is rebuilding futures of those affected: saving lives, accelerating awareness and driving research.

This subject is very close to my heart as Isabel is nearly 1 year on from her diagnosis of autoimmune encephalitis. I am passionate in raising money and awareness to give something back to this amazing cause who supported us when we were in great need of help. I am hoping to reach my target of £500 by running 5K everyday for the month of February. I have chosen this month as we celebrate World Encephalitis Day on 22nd February 25.
