Catherine's fundraiser for Different Strokes

Great Bristol Half Marathon 2024 · 19 May 2024 ·
When people hear ‘stroke’, they often think of the elderly. However, 1 in 4 strokes occur in people aged 65 and younger.
Every year, the lives around 25,000 younger individuals are forever altered in an instant.
Unfortunately our current NHS stroke services are largely set up to support the elderly, leaving younger stroke survivors without vital long term rehabilitation support.
Different Strokes is a charity which empowers younger survivors to reclaim their lives, providing important services such as support groups, online exercise classes, a befriending service, an information line and funding for private physical rehabilitation.
I have been a Trustee of Different Strokes for over 5 years. This year, I am fundraising for the charity by running a half marathon in Southampton on 16th June (I was originally supposed to do the Bristol Half Marathon last month, but was unable due to an admin error!). The aim is to raise £1000 (or more!).
Please join me in supporting this vital cause and helping younger stroke survivors regain their independence and quality of life.
