Story
UPDATE on 25 September: So far I've walked 115 miles - 6 days to go to the end of the month - NEW WALKING GOAL IS 130 MILES.
I''m joining the challenge to walk 30 miles in September to support people facing dementia and their carers.
Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimers disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.
Sadly, most of us know at least one person living with dementia. I want to do my bit by raising some much-needed funds for Dementia UK.
I'm lucky enough to be fit and well and still able - at the age of 73 - to walk the hills and enjoy it. I'll walk as far as I can in September. I should be able to achieve 30 miles easily - my goal is 100 miles.
Anything you can give will help the cause - and encourage me.
Thank you
