Story

Geoff and I are aiming to complete the Norfolk Superhero Challenge on June 14th in a brother/sister duo! This is a quadrathlon pair event set up at Burnham Overy Staithe, with a open water swim, kayak, cycle and then run across Holkham Beach. Each competitor completes all the events and pairs must stay together as a team.

This year, the Norfolk Superhero Challenge is supporting Norfolk Community Foundation’s A Better Childhood mission to get Norfolk’s children active!

In Norfolk, 1 in 5 children leave primary school obese, and 8% have a mental health need. Yet, local spending on youth services is just £6.50 per child annually—compared to £150 in inner-city Camden. The Norfolk Superhero Challenge aims to change that.

The Norfolk Superhero Fund will, for example, enable us to subsidise or even fully fund club memberships and kit, which would have otherwise been unaffordable, as well as fund much needed coaching and equipment. Did you know that a third of children in the UK can’t swim and the number is growing. This is just one example of how we plan to help.

Together, we can create opportunities that inspire the young people in Norfolk who need it most to live healthier, more active lives.

We would be very grateful for any sponsorship you could provide; every penny will make a difference. Thank you for your support.
