Many children in Chicago grow up in racially segregated, restricted neighborhood environments with little or no safe places to play, learn, or grow.

OWLS is a sports-based youth development organization that creates opportunities for underserved youth in Chicago.

With lacrosse as its foundation, OWLS provides impactful mentorship, academic intervention, and enrichment experiences to support the social-emotional growth of the youth we serve.

The sport of Lacrosse is a gift that can open doors to opportunities, including the gift of college and higher education. When I first picked up a lacrosse stick, I had no idea the impact the sport would have on my life. Through countless hours of practice, intense games, and the comradery of being a part of a team; Lacrosse has taught me discipline, perseverance, and the importance of teamwork. These valuable life lessons have translated into my life beyond college and a network of lifelong friends who share the same passions. I am forever grateful for the sport of lacrosse, the lifelong lacrosse network, my family, and the opportunity ahead with OWLS.
