Me
I guess we'll call them 'gremlins.' They're the sort of gremlins that there's still quite a lot of stigma about, and fellas still aren't too keen to talk about them.
I've had gremlins for as long as I can remember, but creativity helps me massively. What about you?
I write plays (sometimes quite serious ones) and endless comedy sketches. I peddle my wares at carterbloke.com and I'm dead proud of everything you'll find there.
My Fundraiser
Since 2020 I've written a show called Bloke Box (also known as 'Nige Dials In'). It started as a Covid lockdown project for BBC Radio Nottingham, designed to bring a smile to others in extraordinary times.
It's about a guy called Nige who finds himself going round the twist in a man cave as he, and the nation, deals with isolation in a world dramatically changed.
The increasingly frantic outpourings of my alter-ego seemed to resonate with a lot of people. Nige got himself regular airtime and a social media following.
Nige doesn't do nearly as much stuff these days, mainly because he's allowed back out now, but he still loves a Christmas special and a sing-song.
Anyway. Point is, he's back with something brand new to entertain you in December.
Making the show has helped me keep those gremlins in their box, and I've had a ball putting it all together.
Your Bit
If you're here reading this, thank you. You can check out the new show using the link below.
If you like what you see, I hope you'll share this page with friends and make a donation to Muted, a brilliant men's mental health charity based in Nottingham, where I live.
You can find out more about who Muted are and what they do via muted.org.uk.
Cheers.
