Story
We believe that our beloved sport has the power to create positive change beyond the pitch. With this in mind, we have set ourselves a target to visit 26 grounds around the UK (all with letters of the alphabet) within 48 hours. Starting at Welling United Football Club at 17:30, 8th Aug 24 and finishing at Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium on 17:30, 10th Aug 24.
Why Mental Health Matters in Football:
Football clubs have a unique platform to reach millions of fans and supporters. By actively promoting mental health awareness, clubs can contribute significantly to breaking down stigma and encouraging open conversations. We hope that our visits highlight how teams, clubs, and even attendance at grounds can support this.
We believe that Football is more than just a game; it’s a community. By prioritizing mental well-being, clubs can strengthen this sense of community and make a lasting impact on people’s lives.
How we aim to make a difference:
Awareness Campaign: Our visits and fundraising aim to highlight mental health awareness campaigns at the places that we visit.
Player Involvement: IT would be amazing if any players are available to either support our fundraising or even at the ground to meet us. Even the opportunity to speak openly about their mental health experiences would be amazing. Their stories can inspire fans and show that vulnerability is a sign of strength.
Charitable Partnership: We are collaborating with Mind mental health charity
Our Shared Goal: Together, we can create a football community that prioritizes mental health, supports those in need, and fosters resilience. By taking small steps, we can make a significant impact.
