Story
On Sunday 8th September I’m running Norwich 10k. On Sunday 29th September I’m running the Sandringham 10k and Sunday 20th October I’m running the Blickling Hall Half Marathon.
I’m running to raise money for the Harefield Transplantation Centre. This hospital specialises in Heart & Lung Transplants.
On Tuesday 9th April 2024 a very dear friend of mine Jon Ward had a double lung transplant, and due to the kind hearted donation from a stranger who sadly lost their life, Jon was given the amazing gift of new lungs. Jon is recovering well and this organ donation has made a significant impact on not only his life but his lovely wife Tracey and their two sons Ed & Harvey.
While running I will also be thinking of Dan Leathers and his family who are good friends of mine. Dan sadly lost his life in 2022 aged 20 but selflessly donated multiple organs to make positive changes in other peoples lives. Organ donation is so important. Any donation will mean so much to me and the families and raise awareness to a good cause… Thanks Carolyne
