Story
Every pregnancy loss means something to the mother, father and the family. Let's raise money for this amazing charity so that they can continue to support people through such a heartbreaking loss.
My story
On the 8th of March my husband and I went for our 12 week scan at first it was very happy and then the mood changed and we were told there was evidence that the baby may not make it to term. Our whole world crashed. We were referred to the RVI to have a more detailed scan. We arrived at the RVI on the 18th March and within 2 minutes of our scan two drs confirmed there was no heartbeat. Of all the things I imagined this was not the outcome I expected. Since then I have gone through the medical removal of the miscarriage and then being readmitted to hospital due to an infection because of the removal.
Women go through so much emotionally and physically when they miscarry, it can feel like a very lonely place. Their partners are heartbroken and both need support at that time. For me I was given the MA's leaflets when I miscarried. I found them really useful and as I searched their website I found comfort in the stories online. I also liked the idea of joining a group for support if I needed to. It also inspired me to share my own story on social media too.
