Story
Horatio's Garden nurtures the wellbeing of people after spinal injury in beautiful, vibrant sanctuaries within the heart of NHS spinal injury centres.
Spinal cord injuries are traumatic events: they are a physical trauma and a mental battle. Patients often have little or no access to the outside world during their hospital stay. However, research shows that being in contact with a natural environment contributes to an improved sense of wellbeing, which can have a positive impact on people's rehabilitation.
The power of gardens to promote wellbeing resonates with me.
Having volunteered for Horatio's Garden for several years, I wanted to host a Garden Gathering to raise money for this wonderful charity, to share my own garden and to have fun.
Our daisies will be dreamy and our peonies and roses may be the only things to have loved the long wet winter!
Please do bring a friend on Thursday 30 May, 2.30 - 5pm and a donation to Horatio's Garden. As well as the garden, there will be tea, cakes and a plant stall.
If you are unable to attend, please consider making a donation using this Just Giving page.
Thank you! We hope to see you on Thursday 30 May.
