Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit Chris France's JustGiving page.
Many people will be aware that Chris France had been quite poorly over the last few months. Sadly, despite several hospital visits his health could not be regained and he passed away peacefully at the Douglas Macmillan Hospice on Saturday 3rd June 2023 with his son & daughter by his side.
Chris was dearly loved by both of us, a respected father-in-law of Steve, a much loved and cherished grandad of Jessica and Jodie, a loving brother of Nigel, and an uncle to Simon and his wife Claire. Beyond our family Chris was many things, a friend, a mentor, a teacher, an entertainer to name but a few. With a warm smile he would tell tales, read poetry, and sing songs. His eagerness to welcome new friends and to listen to their stories built up a vast circle of friends and a wealth of knowledge beyond compare.
Chris will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all his loving family and friends.
A service to celebrate Chris’s life will take place at The Old Chapel, Etruria Old Road Stoke-on-Trent ST1 5PE on Wednesday 28th June 2023 at 2.00pm. Family flowers only. Donations to the Douglas Macmillan Hospice on the day or via this just giving page. Although Chris and the family were only in touch with the hospice in the final few days of his life, the care, support and calm surroundings provided by the Douglas Macmillan Hospice and their staff was both beautiful and beyond measure.
Please be aware that there will be no dress code at the service, Dad had no particularly favourite colour he liked them all.
Following the service, we would like you to join us for refreshments at Sanctuary Ale House, 495 Hartshill Road, Hartshill, Stoke-on-Trent ST4 6AA and to share memories of Chris.
With much love
Steven, Caroline and Steve
