Story
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.
Our team of runners are Ollie, Olly, Sam, Peter, Carole and Ed.
We are running in memory of two special people:
James Barry who passed away in 2021, his son Ollie has put together some words about his dad:
My dad was the best dad I could’ve asked for. He was kind to everyone he met, and was always there for me and my sister when we needed him. He developed an amazing set of close friends thanks to his warm personality, and he had a real passion and skill for photography. Everyone could appreciate his talent in the amazing photos he’s taken throughout the years. My dad would always keep the atmosphere light and happy, and gave me an immense sense of security and comfort with life problems. He always showed an infinite level of interest in whatever I was doing, which I will never forget. I miss him a lot and will treasure his memories and the things he’s taught me, and will spend my life making him proud.
James below with his friend Olly:

We are also remembering Robert Harris, who passed away from a brain tumour in 2008, 2 weeks before his fourth birthday. Robert was son of Carole (and Andy who is chief race support, making sure there is cake and champagne at the finish line !!!), and big brother to Ed.
Although Robert passed away some 16 years ago now, he is missed every day and is remembered with great love. He is below driving his little brother Ed around on the farm on his John Deere...
