So why am I supporting the Campus Y? I love the words of Howard Thurman: "Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." The Campus Y does this asking, illuminating the students as well as the communities with which they engage. It's beautiful work - so worthy of support.

More about Throwback Prom:
Throwback Prom is an annual event that brings together 200 attendees, including university leadership, current students, and alumni from Washington University, as well as connections across the St. Louis community. Through this event, we aim to foster a sense of community - picture all ages dancing to “Y.M.C.A.” together on the dance floor - while also benefiting the work of the Campus Y.
The Campus Y guides and advises 60 student leaders to coordinate 25 community volunteer programs engaging 800 volunteers in 25,000 hours of service each year. Three staff and the seven member Student Executive Council provide a sounding board for student leaders to ensure community engagement is well-informed and guided by the community engaged.
