Story

Raising4Ria has been set up as a Brain Tumour Research Fundraising Thank you for visiting our page, we really appreciate you reading our story and donating to a very worthwhile cause.

I am hosting a coffee morning on Tuesday 25th March 2025 for Brain Tumour Awareness Month/Wear a Hat Day.

I will be raising money for Brain Tumour Research in memory of my daughter Ria who battled with a Glioblastoma Grade 4 Brain Tumour for 2 years 7 months.

Ria fought tirelessly throughout her journey but the prognosis for this stage of brain tumour is very poor. Ria underwent 2 major brain surgeries to try and remove the tumours, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and private immunotherapy in Germany amongst trying other treatments before it took her life way too young in August 21 at age 25.

Brain tumour research receives less than 1% of national funding despite accounting for most occurrences of cancer in the under 40's and we want to play our part to change this awful stat.

Thank you for reading my story and for your kind donations! I will be sure to keep you updated on how much money I raise to help fund brain cancer research.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
