Story
In October 2024 my gorgeous, full of life Mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 terminal cancer and given weeks to live. Only 3 weeks after we got Mom’s diagnosis she passed away with all her family around her.
Throughout Mom’s time out of hospital and being back home, Mom and all of us received support from the team at Birmingham Hospice. They provided care for Mom that was second to none. The carers could not have done enough for mom, along with the nurses. They were simply incredible. The support they provided for the rest of us was also more than we could have ever asked for. They deserve every penny and every bit of recognition they get.
They truly are Angels sent from above. Me, Jason, Nan, Ellie and Marie will never be able to thank them enough for how they treated Mom and us as we navigated through the worst 3 weeks of our lives.
In order to support the charity and give back as much as we can. Me and my bestie Abbie will be running the Chocolate 5K in March to raise as much money as possible for Birmingham Hospice to ensure they can continue to support families like mine during very dark and difficult times.
Birmingham Hospice desperately need your help to provide vital palliative and end of life care in your local community.
Last year, it cost nearly £17 million to run our services for 12 months, this year we estimate it could cost £20 million. This year, we need to raise £6.5 million through fundraising activity like Birmingham Running Festival, income from our shops and voluntary donations to cover the costs of running our charity.
That’s why the money you donate is so important; it ensures that their specialist care and support is available for more people and their families, at a time when they need it the most.
