Story
Hi everyone,
On the 21st of April 2024 I am taking on the epic challenge of running the London Marathon. This yearly event raises huge amounts of funds, support and awareness for some wonderful charities all around the world. It is vital for research, training and equipment for so many people and I am extremely excited to be a part of it.
This year I am running for a local charity called Jay’s Aim. The charity was launched in 2018 with a really important mission; to reduce the rate of sudden cardiac death among young people. The charity provides free to attend training in CPR and AED, secures new public access defibrillators all over the South West and encourages funding for cardiac screening sessions.
“Every week in the UK, an estimated 12 young people die from an undiagnosed heart condition, with approximately 80% showing no prior signs or symptoms.”

In December 2023 my sister, brother in law, their wonderful friends and families unexpectedly lost someone very special. He was a fit and healthy young man who loved to exercise, read and travel the world. He was an inspiration to all! I am running the marathon in his memory whilst also hoping to raise the much needed awareness for this crucial cause.
My aim is to raise enough money to be able to fund another public access defibrillator for our local community.
“If a defibrillator is used and effective CPR is performed within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest, survival chances increase from 6% to 74%.”
