Story
Today, mental health affects us all. Small or big, we all have our own stories and this is mine.
A lot of people are seen for who they are on the outside but it's how they're feeling on the inside which is most important. When it matters most, we need each other. Reach out to your friends and love ones. Ask a random person how they are because I can guarantee most wouldn't have been asked. But most importantly, be kind to each other.
I'm running this marathon in memory of my brother, Craig, and for those out there who are feeling a certain way and can't see light at the end of the tunnel or a way out.
On 27th February 2022, my brother took his own life. He was a long term sufferer of mental health and saw no way out. For many years his cry for help was heard by no-one and he was sadly made to suffer in silence. He was someone who always wore his heart on his sleeve and he allowed himself to be vulnerable, emotionally. Craig had a genuine care for others, an open-heart and unwavering kindness which made him a very special person who will forever be in our hearts. This marathon is for you and whilst you cheer me on from above, always remember, I love you.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and together, we can change the mindset of talking.
