Story

During her final stages of treatment for her Stage 4 stomach cancer, Sian cycled an impressive 47km from Costa Teguise to Puerto del Carmen, in a day, with Ellie, Murray and friends on her last holiday abroad. Most people would not cycle this in full health whilst on holiday…

Sian was dedicated to being active herself as well as encouraging others to be; she was an advocate of any movement for anyone is good. To mark, and celebrate, her first anniversary, we are completing 47km in the month of June. We are using the opportunity to help raise funds for St Columba's Hospice, who gave Sian the best possible comfort towards the end of her life. They provide wonderful care for those in need.

You can join in too by completing 47km over the course of June, and having family or close friends sponsoring you. You can run, walk, cycle, swim! Any way you see fit, Miss Mack would have approved.

St Columba’s Hospice Care provides palliative and end-of-life care for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families. We’re an independent charity at the heart of our local community and have been offering free, flexible and person-centred care and support to our patients and their families for over 40 years.

You can find out more about all of our services and the work we’re doing across Edinburgh and the Lothians by visiting our website www.stcolumbashospice.org.uk.
