Story
I am having approximately 20 inches of hair cut off at the end of April 2024 for The Little Princess Trust.
The LPT provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions such as Alopecia.
This is the longest I’ve EVER had my hair in 30 years and I would love someone to enjoy it as much as I have (The brushing, washing and drying i’ve not enjoyed as much).
Knowing people who have lost their hair from cancer you don’t realise how much it is part of your identity and would be nice to give that identity back to someone.
We did promise a friend when she lost her hair to cancer we’d join her, but then all agreed that she pulled it off a lot better than any of us could. Therefore instead of the shave this was the next best thing!
The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.
It costs, on average, £700 to provide one wig to a child or young person. This cost covers the making, fitting and styling of the wig. The Little Princess Trust relies solely on the generosity of its supporters who help the charity give Hair and Hope to so many children and young people with cancer each year.
