Story
💜 MALCOLM JONES 💜
My grandad was a lovely, kind, caring man who loved his football - he supported Portsmouth, and his hometown team Mansfield. He loved a good curry, we used to go after the games when we could. He also served in the Navy from a young age.
He had a heart of gold and was full of energy. He was well known for his jokes that were not really that funny, but you laughed otherwise he’d end up explaining it over and over again, and his over exaggerated stories.
Unfortunately he had a stroke back in May 2022 which started everything off, but after our family constantly asked the doctors and hospital to run tests they firstly did some others and said it was all these different things, and when they finally did the tests we asked for it was too little too late.
In October he took more of a turn and became bed bound, he put up a good fight, holding on till his favourite day of the year which was the 5th November - Bonfire night - and for the first night in a long time he was smiling and sitting up to watch me and a few family members out the window with sparklers. He passed the morning of the 6th.
He will never be forgotten and it will be a pleasure to step out onto that pitch every game in honour of his memory.
Once again a massive thank you to FFC and all involved.
