Camino for old boys

Building on the success of our first boys' boarding house, we're now creating a purpose-built facility for special needs girls in Laikipia, Kenya. We're deeply moved to support these students and hope you can join us in making a difference.

Story

Mick & Charlie’s Camino Pilgrimage

We are walking the Camino Portuguese from Oporto to Santiago de Compostela, covering 165 miles over two weeks. At 79 and 80 years old, this will likely be our last major walk.

We hope you can support our chosen charity project to build a special needs girls’ dormitory at Tharua Special School in Kenya.

From the charity > Help Us Build a Special Needs Boarding House for Girls in Laikipia, Kenya

Building on the overwhelming success of our first boys' boarding house, we are excited to embark on a new journey: creating a purpose-built boarding house for special needs girls in Laikipia, Kenya. This project is close to our hearts, and we are deeply moved by the opportunity to support these incredible students. We hope you can join us in making a profound difference in their lives.

Our Journey So Far

In June 2024, we opened the doors to our first boys' boarding house in Laikipia. With your generous support, we created a safe, nurturing environment where boys could learn, grow, and thrive. The impact was immediate and profound. Boys who had previously struggled to find stability now had a place to call home, complete with the resources and support they needed to succeed academically and personally.

Seeing the transformation in these young lives inspired us to do more.
