Camilla Aiko's fundraiser for St Mungo's

Hackney Half Marathon 2025 · 18 May 2025 ·
Around 354,016 people will be homeless on any given night in England (1 in 160 people!). With increases to the cost of living and cuts to public funding, more people have had to sleep rough in the past year by a 15% increase than the year before.
St Mungo's work focuses on seven main causes to try and help people on the streets:
1. Outreach teams go out at night and early in the morning, looking for people sleeping rough and helping them get into accommodation;
2. Operating shelters, hostels, supported and supported accommodation to help people at every stage;
3. Providing health and wellbeing services;
4. Advice, training and accomodation for ex-offenders;
5. Learning, training and re-employment for people to help rebuild their lives;
6. Care and services for women, who will have a more dangerous experience of homelessness;
7. Advice and services for migrants who may need legal help.
To help St Mungo's continue their work, I am going to be running the Hackney Half Marathon in aid of them. I am very excited to be helping a charity who are doing such important work during the cost of living crisis.
