Prior's Court exists to transform the lives of autistic young people with complex needs, helping them build a brighter, more independent future. Fundraising enables young people to have access to specialist equipment, activities and projects, helping them to live more fulfilling lives.

Story

On Sunday 6th April 2025, during world autism acceptance month, I am running my first half marathon, actually my first proper run of any distance ever.

I am running to support the children and young adults at Prior's Court Foundation, all of whom are autistic and have very complex needs and learning disabilities. Prior's Court needs to raise funds for new sensory and bespoke play equipment across site so that their residents, who live at the charity and are supported 1:1, 24 hours a day, have access to the enormous benefits this equipment will bring. For autistic young people with complex needs, play is not only important for fun but also for regulation, managing sensory needs and developing fine motor skills.

You can read more about the play equipment they need and why it is so essential for these children and young people here:

Currently I can only run about 3 miles comfortably, so this is going too be a huge challenge! This year I am getting married, moving house and starting a new job so I thought why not throw a little half marathon in there too! Please support me with a donation if you can, and share my page with your contacts. Thank you so much.
