Story
In January 2025, I will be taking on my next challenge, this time to help raise funds for Rainbows Hospice, a truly special charity that has been providing care and support to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions for the past 30 years.
Rainbows is the only hospice in the East Midlands that provides this crucial care for babies, children and young people, offering not only medical support but also emotional and respite care for families when they need it most. They give children and their families a safe space to make the most of every moment, providing care, comfort, and a place to make special memories. As they enter their 31st year of care in 2025, I want to support them and give myself a good challenge at the same time!
The Challenge – I will be running 31 half marathons in 31 days throughout January 2025 to mark this milestone! I'm really excited to take on the challenge and support such a meaningful cause. While I know the whole month will be tough, both physically and mentally, I hope the opportunity to make a real difference and support what Rainbows do will keep me motivated.
Why Your Support Matters - I’m asking for your support in any way you can – whether it’s donating a small amount or a larger contribution, Rainbows rely heavily on donations, despite what most people think, only a small proportion of the operation at Rainbows is funded by the NHS. Every penny will make a huge difference to the children and families who rely on Rainbows for care. Your generosity will help ensure that they continue to receive the high-quality, compassionate care they need and deserve.
To make it easy for you to follow along, I’ll be sharing my progress on my Instagram account and will also provide a link to my Strava page from the 1st of January, where you can track my runs if you want!
It should go without saying, if you’d like to join me on any of the runs, even if it’s just for a portion of the distance, I would love the company! Please feel free to drop me a message, the plan is to get most of the runs done around the 2 hour mark, give or take a few minutes, but we will have to see where the legs are at by the middle of the month....
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my page, and I hope you can support the cause in any way you can.
Together, we can help bring light to the lives of the children who need it most. Let’s make every step count!
