Story

Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page.

For those who so wish, we would like to kindly request a donation to Epilepsy Action, instead of any form of gift for our wedding.

Alexandra Stratfull-Innes. To us she is known as Sandi and was one of the bravest and most kind-hearted individuals. Whilst we are aware that many people have various forms of Epilepsy – for our cousin, it played a big part of her daily life.

For anyone who feels generous enough to donate, please know that we are extremely grateful, and the money raised will be going towards an amazing cause – one extremely close to our hearts.

Epilepsy Statistics (Epilepsy Society UK)

> One in 50 people will have epilepsy at some time in their life (not everyone with epilepsy will have it for life).

> Around 87 people are diagnosed with epilepsy every day.

> Over 500,000 people in the UK have epilepsy. That’s about one in every 100 people.

> There are around 60 million people with epilepsy in the world.

> Up to 3% of people with epilepsy will be affected by flashing lights (called photosensitive epilepsy), so most people with epilepsy do not have seizures triggered by flashing lights.

> Although epilepsy related deaths are rare, about 1,200 people die from Epilepsy each year in the UK. Around half of these deaths are SUDEP (sudden unexpected death in epilepsy).

Epilepsy Action is creating a world without limits for everyone affected by epilepsy, connecting people with others, and providing support and information you can trust. We’re calling out the misunderstanding, prejudice and barriers that stop people with epilepsy living their best life.
