Story

Calums Cabin support families who have a child suffering from cancer in so many ways.

Initially Calums idea was to have a holiday home on Bute for children suffering from cancer and their families to come and make special irreplaceable memories, spend quality family together and recharge their batteries for what may lie ahead. Now over 160 families per year come to Bute, Ayrshire and St Andrews to do what Calum knew was needed.

In 2017 Calums Cabin opened their first "home from home" Glasgow flat, where families who have to relocate to Glasgow for intensive treatment and trial's for their child either at Glasgow Children's Hospital or the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, have a safe haven, to be "normal" and to be still together as a family.

Demand for the flats, as is the case for holidays has been phenomenal, so much so, Calums Cabin now have 9 "home from home" flats.

For the last 3 months the charity has been renting another two flats as demand is so high, resulting in supporting 11 families per week in flats. We have therefore decided to set a fundraising goal to raise £250,000 to purchase flat number TEN!!

Can you please help, no matter how large or small your donation is, it will make such a difference, maybe you would like to hold an event, or sponsored event, anything at all please help us get to the target and help and support more families.

Thank you so much xxxx
