Story
I am kindly requesting a donation for my MND Scotland Schneider Electric Marathon of Paris due to take place on the 13th of April 2025.
I have been fundraising for MND Scotland for 7 years since the age of only 16 (I am now 23). The inspiration for my fundraising was my dear teacher and friend Mr. Donald Grewar. He was diagnosed with the condition in 2014 and passed away from the disease in 2019. I was devastated when he was diagnosed with the condition back in 2015 and miss him dearly.
It is a terminal neurological disease which has impacted the likes of the late Scottish Rugby Union Player Doddie Weir and the late Rugby league player Rob Burrow. It is a terminal condition with an average life expectancy after diagnosis of only 18 months. It robs a person of everyday functions such as to be able to walk, talk, eat, drink and even breathe unaided.
MND Scotland is the only Scottish charity providing care and support to people affected by Motor Neuron Disease (MND), as well as funding research to take us a step closer to a cure.
Thanks to my business sponsors McCallum Bagpipes, Rogerson Shoes, Infinite Indulgence Troon and Luvians St. Andrew's and Cupar who have supported my Paris Marathon 2025 challenge.
We want a world without Motor Neuron Disease, so I’m fundraising because I want to help find a cure for this devastating disease.
Sponsoring me will also help MND Scotland to provide practical, financial, and emotional support to people affected by MND. All donations will go straight to MND Scotland.
Thank you!
Calum.
