Story

The Sick Children’s Trust for me has a very personal connection, please read below and your donations will be greatly appreciated.

We are incredibly grateful to Cal for fund raising for The Sick Children’s Trust in Izzy’s memory.

During Izzy’s admission to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit last year for 7 weeks, we were able to stay at Acorn House which is situated on site at Addenbrooke’s hospital. Being able to base ourselves at the hospital around the clock and tag team getting rest at our room in Acorn House gave us strength to navigate such a difficult time.

The Sick Children's Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten Homes from Home. Hospital can be a lonely and scary place for anyone, but especially a child. Providing families with somewhere to stay together just minutes from the hospital means that they can be by their sick child's side and have one less thing to worry about.

With the help of so many generous supporters, like our incredible Great North Run team, we have helped over 73,000 families since 1982, with a welcoming place to stay when they have really needed it.
