Story
Hi everyone,
This coming April, I’ll be running the 2024 London Marathon to raise money for Guy’s Cancer Charity, an incredible organisation supporting cancer care and clinical research based out of Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals, London.
This is the first time I’ve done anything, other than growing facial hair, worthy of the opportunity to raise money for an amazing cause and so it was inevitable it was always going to be about cancer.
Since losing my mother 24 years ago and having worked in cancer for the past 5 years, it is a disease that has become defining in my life and so I’d love to raise as much as we can to directly improving cancer care in the immediate and long term.
Guy’s Cancer Charity is particularly special as funding goes both directly to initiatives that improve clinical care now, such as enabling mobile cancer services, better diagnostic facilities, robotic surgery and protecting women’s fertility, but also to research initiatives that invests into realising improvements for the future, such as funding translational oncology units and supporting clinical research.
It would mean a huge amount if you’d be able to donate, only 250 tenners to raise to meet my funding goal and so thank you so much for helping me get there!
Best,
Callum
