Story
When I was growing up, my Grandad used to take me to the Roy Castle Centre on London Road. He was hugely passionate about this charity, as not only did he suffer from lung cancer himself, his uncle, Eric Morris, was one of the founders.
My Grandad used to tell me stories about when they grew up together and what they used to get up to.
I have decided to run the 2024 London Marathon in memory of my Grandad and I want to raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity, as well as spread awareness of the invaluable work they do.
For those that don’t know me, I have had three serious knee injuries - two of which required major surgery. I have had 60-65% of my lateral meniscus taken out of my right knee and 20-25% of lateral meniscus taken out of my left knee. I have also ruptured my ACL in my left leg. Doctors told me I couldn’t run or play football anymore - I’m here to show them that I can.
On 16th November 2023, I received a phone call from The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation to represent them. I am going to go from couch to London marathon in just 22 weeks and raise an incredible amount of money whilst doing so.
Any support you can give, no matter how big or small, will be hugely appreciated and will help to push me over that line come 21st April 2024. Thank you.
