Story

Hey everyone,

As you may or may not know, I'm running the London Marathon this year on 21st April. It's going to be a huge challenge and a distance I've never run before, so a lot of effort is going into training and trying to complete it.

For the day, I shall be running and raising money in memory of baby Axel, who very sadly passed away at the start of this year. All the money I'm raising will be going towards The Royal Brompton Hospital, to help buy some new equipment. Please have a quick read of the message below from Axel's parents, Mike and Jean:

We are raising money to help The Royal Brompton buy some new equipment in Axel’s memory. We hope to buy a new PICU bed for babies if we can and are finalising costs etc… with the Brompton Fountain to facilitate this. We want to create as many positives as we can from Axel’s passing and helping other babies recover feels a fitting tribute for all the joy he brought us in his short time.

The teams (and many worked with him) at the Brompton were all fantastic, hard working and compassionate, and we’d love for there to be a memory of Axel at the hospital where people can see him helping, even after all that has happened.

I haven't set a target for what I want to raise, I would just be so, so grateful for whatever you can donate. So whatever you're able to donate, just know it will be going to a great cause.

Thank you in advance!
