Story

In May 2021 I was diagnosed with stage 3 Renal Ewing’s Sarcoma, a very rare and aggressive form of cancer - not what I expected at 27! Measuring in at 8.5inches, “Gilbert” was almost the size of a grapefruit and invading my right kidney.

936 hours of chemo, 12 blood transfusions, 1 and a bit organs down and a brand new immune system later…I’m now 1 year cancer free!

During my treatment my friends and family were beyond amazing and I couldn’t have made it through without them. I also had great support from the team at Friends of Anchor during my time on both the Oncology and Haematology wards and can’t thank them enough…but I’m gonna try.

I’m taking part in Courage on the Catwalk 2023, alongside 23 other sensational ladies, to raise funds to support the anchor unit who provide care for those facing an oncology or haematology diagnosis. FOA is funded by Balmoral so 100% of donations go directly to helping those affected, providing life saving treatment and care.

I would appreciate any pennies you can spare for this life changing cause x
