Story

Hi everyone, I've decided to run an event in support of stroke association. 💜

Stroke has always been something I've had an interest in but until it comes to your own door it's then you will only realise the long term affects physically, emotionally and mentally it can have on people.

Let’s keep striving for a world where everyone has the chance to live their best life, post-stroke and beyond.

All proceeds will go to the Stroke Association and will help in funding research, treatment and support for our stroke patients, their families and carers.

So ' The Weir Sister's' are out of retirement for one night only and the talented 'Oonagh Clarke' to 'Sing for Stroke' 🎶🎵🎤

See the poster below for details and if you can't make it on the night you can donate on the link below.

Thank you for taking time to read and thank you for supporting. 🙏🏻

Raise your voice and raise vital funds for the Stroke Association this World Stroke Day.

You might be singing at home by yourself, at work or at school. Whoever you like to sing with, you can show solidarity with stroke survivors this World Stroke Day, 29th October 2024.

Over 240 a day wake up to the catastrophic impact of stroke. Some stroke survivors can have difficulties speaking after a stroke, this is known as aphasia. This can be extremely challenging, but recovery is possible.

Did you know singing is a powerful tool in stroke recovery? Because music and singing is processed in a different part of the brain to spoken language, some people with aphasia find that they can sing easily, even though speaking is hard.
