Thomas's fundraiser for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably)

Thomas Harbison-Roper is raising money for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably)

Skegness ➝ Pembrokeshire Castle: 414 Miles for CALM · 8 June 2026

We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.

Story

Hi, I’m Tom, From June 8th to June 12th, 2026, I’ll be cycling from Skegness beach to Pembrokeshire Castle – a total of around 414 miles in 5 days. That’s about 33 hours on the saddle, a lot of sore legs, and probably way too many energy bars.

Why am I doing this?

Because this challenge is about more than just the ride.

Like many people, I’ve had my own struggles with mental health. I know what it feels like to be in a dark place, and I also know how vital it is to have support when things get tough. Too many lives are lost to suicide, and that’s why I’ve chosen to raise money for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) – a charity dedicated to suicide prevention and supporting people who need it most.

My route will take me across the country:

Day 1: Skegness ➝ Kirkby in Ashfield

Day 2: Kirkby in Ashfield ➝ Wolverhampton/Telford

Day 3: Wolverhampton/Telford ➝ Montgomery

Day 4: Montgomery ➝ Lampeter

Day 5: Lampeter ➝ Pembrokeshire Castle

It’s going to be a test of endurance, determination, and probably my ability to sit down comfortably afterwards. But every mile I ride will be in support of CALM’s life-saving work, and for anyone who’s ever felt like giving up.

💙 Every donation – no matter how small – makes a difference. It helps CALM continue their mission to be there for people who need someone to talk to, someone to listen, and someone to help them through.

If you can’t donate, please share this page. Getting the word out is just as important.

Thank you for reading, thank you for your support, and thank you for helping me turn this ride into something that could genuinely save lives.
