Story
Finally after years of entering the ballot I have my ‘Golden Ticket’ for this years London Marathon on Sunday 21st April.
Ironically, 12 months ago I was unexpectedly admitted to hospital, where after minor heart surgery I was discharged with a pacemaker and a change of lifestyle.
Previously I had competed in triathlons and endurance events for over 20 years, going forward I’ve now have new daily challenges which has led to accepting different personal goals.
I’m really excited to be taking part in the London Marathon and whilst I’m able to, hopefully raise some money to support others who are facing their own and unique challenges.
My chosen charities are Bowel Cancer UK and Young Minds.
Bowel Cancer Uk is a charity which is close to our family’s hearts as a result of personal treatment, loss and family history.
Young Minds supports young people struggling with their mental health, we have learnt the importance of this invaluable support from both professional and personal experiences.
Any donations to either of these worthy charities will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support…… It’s time to lace up my trainers and head towards the Mall.
